"Let Me Ask You, Do You Know ...?" is a highly entertaining mix of tricky endgame puzzles and irreverent witty humor; once the most popular radio host and DJ in former Yugoslavia, Karaklaji c uses his wit and charm to play his audience like a fiddle. The challenges often appear deceptively simple at first, but as the plot thickens the readers are put on their heels, constantly guessing whether they are on the right track, as the author keeps serving red herrings on a black-and-white board with gusto. The exercises feel refreshingly different, having a delicate balance of difficulty and educational value, while the prose is thought-provoking and thoroughly enjoyable at all times, utterly dispelling the myth that chess is inaccessible and dull.

IM Ivan Markovic

Much to my delight I am witnessing the rebirth of Karaklaji c´ s magnificent endgame adventure. A dazzling labyrinth of apparently simple positions was so much easier to tackle equipped with this overwhelmingly entertaining tome.Taught - provoking, astute, thorough - and above all - fun to read from cover to cover, this timeless book taught me so much in my youth. I am recommending it wholeheartedly to all chess enthusiasts, students and teachers.

GM Milos Perunovi c

All the Nikola's chess endeavours elevated our beloved royal game to extent of true cultural phenomenon enjoyed by the millions of enthusiasts. Nikola Karaklaj ic devoted his life to chess. He won the title of Yugoslav Champion in 1955, and for a great number of years Nikola wrote columns for distinguished newspapers and magazines. He published several brilliant books and invested great passion diligently teaching the talented youths, inspiring love for chess in many generations of students. On top of that, he was the arbiter of the Fischer - Spassky Rematch in 1992.

He accomplished everything on his own, without any support, remaining independent and creative.

Nikola Karaklajic - a chess legend.
